Customizable Code Snippets

IntelliSense Code Snippets are fully extensible. You can easily customize and create your own code snippets and share them with the Visual C# community. All snippets are stored as XML files that can be easily exchanged or transferred to other computers.

Create Custom Debugger Visualizers

You can also create your own custom Debugger Visualizers, using the built-in Debugger Visualizer item template. You can create a Visualizer that provides a "view" of file system objects, collection classes, or even an interactive "view" of 3D DirectX objects—all while debugging.

Create Custom Templates

Using Visual C# Express, you can create custom item templates or project templates for use in your applications or to share with others in the Visual C# community.

For example, you may want to create a custom MP3 Windows control that uses Windows Media Player. To do this, simply create the user control that you want to export.

You can then set a custom icon, template name, and description for your custom template.

After completing the wizard, your project template or item template is now available to share with others. It is packaged as a zip file and is automatically added to your custom templates directory. To use your custom template, simply go to the Add New Project… or Add New Item… menu option.
