Windows Embedded CE Older Versions

Microsoft first released Windows CE as a scaled-down version of the Windows 95 operating system in November of 1996. Since then, Windows Embedded CE has evolved from older versions along with the systems and devices that are connected with it. Windows CE 5.0

CE 5.0 features improvements from older versions to developer tools, mobile storage capabilities, and the CE file system.  CE 5.0 is also the first operating system built under the Microsoft Shared Source Directive, allowing device developers to modify the OS’ underlying makeup,not seen in previous versions .

Windows CE .NET 4.2

Microsoft Windows Embedded CE .NET 4.2 offers a broad range of new and enhanced features from previous versions , along with new drivers such as Flash Media, HID, and Unified keyboard, and new base configurations for digital media receivers, enterprise terminals, gateways, and IP phones, not seen in older versions .

Windows CE 3.0

Windows CE 3.0 offers a variety of new features from older versions including new kernel and user-interface services, support for larger databases and file systems, improved TCP/IP support, and enhanced security features such as the Cryptography Service Provider Kit, not seen in previous versions .
