The Windows Hardware Certification Kit (HCK) features a streamlined user interface and automatic detection of features.
If you haven’t started the process of certifying your device for Windows 8.1, download the HCK for Windows 8.1.
If you’ve already started the process of certifying a device using the HCK for Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, you’ll need to install the QFE by running HCKSetup again.
To certify your device for Windows 8 or earlier versions of Windows, use the HCK for Windows 8.
The WLK contains everything you need to certify devices for Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 for the Kit Controller, and Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 for Test Clients.
Some tests, like DXVA or HMFT multimedia or network media, need additional files for testing. You might need to download these to complete your certification testing.
When there’s a problem with an HCK test, we create an errata that lets partners pass the test that’s causing issues. Get the latest HCK filters for the tests you need to run for your product.
