The Device Stage Roadmap

This session will introduce new device categories such as USB Web cameras, outline what is required to enable a new device class, and provide insight into other device types that are being considered. Jim Barber
SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER LEAD
Jim Barber is a Senior Program Manager on the Windows PC and Partner Ecosystem team, where he drives the adoption of Windows 7 device experience technologies into the hardware ecosystem. Jim joined Microsoft Consulting Service in 2000. After three years working as an infrastructure consultant for service providers, Jim moved on to the Xbox Live product group. On the Xbox team Jim served as the Xbox Live Program Manager for connectivity, shipping Xbox Live and Xbox 360. In 2006, he moved to the Windows product group as a Program Manager and Technical Evangelist for Windows Rally technologies, the Microsoft program for consumer networking. Before joining Microsoft, Jim served as a Naval flight officer, infrastructure consultant to the FAA, and Microsoft trainer. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters in Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary.
