The Windows Driver Kit (WDK) 7.1.0 is available for download. The WDK 7.1.0 contains headers, libraries, build tools, build environments, code samples, documentation, and other tools that software developers use to create drivers and kernel software.
Develop drivers for Windows 8, Windows 7, and Windows Vista by using the Developer Preview release of the Windows Driver Kit.

Download the WDK 7.1.0 in one of the following ways:
For the easiest way to download the WDK, go to the Microsoft Download Center. Follow the instructions on the Download page to download the WDK.
For a more comprehensive interface to the WDK and to the driver developer community, go to the Microsoft Connect Web site.
If you are a member of Connect, you can download the WDK by using the "Windows Driver Kit (WDK)" connection.
If you are not a member of Connect, you can register at no charge. As a Connect member, you can use the Connect site to download the WDK, to provide feedback on the WDK, and to receive announcements and surveys.
To register for Microsoft Connect and to join the WDK connection, click the link above and follow the instructions. Here are some tips to help you with the registration process:
On the Connect home page, click Register for Connect today.
On the Sign in to Microsoft Connect page, sign in using a Windows Live ID or a Microsoft Passport account.
If you do not have a Windows Live ID or Microsoft Passport account, click the Sign Up Now button and follow the steps to create your credentials.
After you successfully register for Connect, join the WDK connection:
On the Connect home page menu bar, click CONNECTION DIRECTORY.
In the Categories list, click Developer Tools.
In the Category: Developer Tools list, find Windows Driver Kit (WDK) and click Add to Your Dashboard to join the connection. Complete the required registration information. If you see On Your Dashboard instead of Add to Your Dashboard, you have already joined the connection.
After you join the connection, go to the WDK downloads page:
On the Connect main menu, click YOUR DASHBOARD.
In Activity in All Connections Since Your Last Login, click Windows Driver Kit (WDK).
In the left pane, click Downloads. The Downloads page provides links and information about all of the WDK downloads.
If you are already an MSDN subscriber and you prefer to download kits from MSDN, you can download the latest WDK by using MSDN Subscriber Downloads.
Previous Versions of the WDK and DDK
Archived packages of the WDK and DDK are available in the downloads section of the WDK Connect site and are for reference only. Please note that archive packages are NOT supported.
