Monitor and Maintain Your Hardware and Drivers: Getting Started

After you develop, test, and qualify your hardware and drivers, you can monitor the behavior of your company’s products and provide driver updates.

Monitor Hardware and Driver Quality

From the new Windows Dev Center-Hardware Dashboard service, you can use the Windows Error Reporting data to monitor your hardware and drivers. Windows Error Reporting (WER) collects and distributes data when a program or driver fails. Use WER to view error reports that were submitted by end users of your company’s products, and to provide responses to your customers.

Distribute Updates

Distribute updated drivers on Windows Update to ensure that users find the latest drivers. After you have updated your driver, make a new logo program submission for your revised product and driver. After the submission is approved, upload your updated driver to Windows Update using the Driver Distribution service also on the Hardware Dashboard.

Promote Your Product

Provide information about your product on the Windows Compatibility Center. Partners should review the site and update information for product listings to ensure that it is accurate and up to date.
