Team System Web Access

Visual Studio Team System Web Access is a Web interface to Team Foundation Server. Team System Web Access is available as a free download for existing Team Foundation Server users. It will be incorporated into a future release of Visual Studio Team System.

Installing on the Team Foundation Server Application Tier

  1. Install Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Explorer.
  2. Download and run TeamSystemWebAccess.msi and follow the instructions.
  3. During the installation, you can configure Team System Web Access to use Integrated Windows authentication (only available when installing on the Team Foundation Server application tier).

Installing on a Remote Server

When Team System Web Access is installed on a remote server it is not possible to use Integrated Windows authentication. Instead, you will need to use Forms-based authentication. It is recommended to configure the Team System Web Access site to use SSL when using Forms-based authentication.

  1. Install IIS 6.
  2. Install .NET Framework 2.0 and enable ASP.NET 2.0 on IIS Web service extensions.
  3. Install Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Explorer.
  4. Download and run TeamSystemWebAccess.msi and follow the instructions.
