* Note: These packages were refreshed for KB958481 and KB958483
Refresh Notes
The installer for this package has been updated to include KB958481 and KB958483. If this package was downloaded and installed prior to 3/2/2009, re-downloading and installing this refresh will perform an in-place upgrade of the bootstrapper packages for Visual Studio. Any built or published ClickOnce or Setup Projects will need to be rebuilt and republished to include the GDR update.
Installation
Download Installer (Download Size: 325 MB)
This installation provides bootstrapper packages that allow .NET Frameworks 2.0 SP2 and 3.0 SP2 to be installed as a prerequisite with an application. This installation is intended to be installed on machines with Visual Studio 2008 installed. This package contains both the 2.0 SP2 and 3.0 SP2 bootstrapper packages. However, if it is desired to only install the .NET Frameworks 2.0 SP2 bootstrapper package, you can specify the feature at the command line by running:
Packages_setup.exe /x:.
Msiexec /i adtbs_sp2oob.msi ADDLOCAL=NetFx2SP2
Limitations
- These packages are tested to work with Visual Studio 2008 Setup Projects and ClickOnce projects.
- These packages provide support for x86 and x64 operating systems, however they do not support and will fail to install on Windows Vista or subsequent operating systems. To provide a prerequisite that will install on Windows Vista, use the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 bootstrapper package instead.
- These packages do not support the "Download components from the component vendor's web site." option. If this option is selected, the bootstrapper will build successfully and will show some build warnings that indicate that no Homesite link was found. As a result, these specific packages will be run from the same location as the bootstrapper and will require the installation files (which are copied to the build output folder) to be copied along with the built setup.exe file.
- These packages provide support for Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.
