Beth update doesn't work on .mdf file

The code in the UpdateCustomer procedure should read:

IF @@ROWCOUNT > 0 AND @@ERROR = 0
-- select the updated timestamp which is put pack into the dataset
SELECT Modified = @Modified
FROM Customer
WHERE (CustomerID = @CustomerID);

There was a bit of a typo in the previous video, where the '@' was left out.

You're probably running into an issue using local database file. Check out these resources:

Basically what's happening when you wotk with a file-based database is that the database file is coppied out to your \bin folder when debugging so that is the file you are editing, not the one in your project folder. It just looks like the data isn't updating, but it really is. See those resources above for how to manage this.

How can we control ID numbers? For example, if we delete some customer with ID=3, how we can refresh ID list (CustomerID) for generated correct ID number list (1,2,3,4...n)?
