.NET Framework Class Library
TabControl..::.OnSelecting Method

Raises the Selecting event.

Namespace: System.Windows.Forms
Assembly: System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)
Syntax
Protected Overridable Sub OnSelecting ( _
	e As TabControlCancelEventArgs _
)
protected virtual void OnSelecting(
	TabControlCancelEventArgs e
)
protected:
virtual void OnSelecting(
	TabControlCancelEventArgs^ e
)
abstract OnSelecting :
        e:TabControlCancelEventArgs -> unit
override OnSelecting :
        e:TabControlCancelEventArgs -> unit

Parameters

e
Type: System.Windows.Forms..::.TabControlCancelEventArgs
A TabControlCancelEventArgs that contains the event data.
Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnSelecting method also enables derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnSelecting in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnSelecting method so that registered delegates receive the event.
