X509Certificate2..::.Version Property

Gets the X.509 format version of a certificate.

Namespace: System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates
Assembly: System (in System.dll)
Syntax
Public ReadOnly Property Version As Integer
public int Version { get; }
public:
property int Version {
	int get ();
}
member Version : int

Property Value

Type: System..::.Int32
The certificate format.
Exceptions
ExceptionCondition
CryptographicException

The certificate is unreadable.

Remarks

There are several versions of X.509 certificates. This property identifies which format the certificate uses. For example, "3" is returned for a version 3 certificate.

Examples

The following code example creates a command-line executable that takes a certificate file as an argument and prints various certificate properties to the console.
