Important Information about VAT ID Number

The VAT number you provide must be the number assigned to you by your Revenue authority. The VAT number must be in a valid format for your country and consist of the correct number of digits and any letter(s) as appropriate.

VAT is applicable at the date of shipment and the correct VAT will be applied to the VAT Invoice. The VAT calculated on your order is an estimate for information purposes only. It is correct at the date of your order but will update if the tax details change at date of shipment (e.g. VAT rate change/ place of shipment change/ tax status of customer change).

All Online Only Subscription product sales for the EMEA region are fulfilled from Ireland by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited. VAT registered subscribers in EU countries outside of Ireland who provide a valid VAT number will be charged VAT at the zero rate (0%) under the Reverse Charge procedure. All subscribers located in Ireland and subscribers located outside Ireland but within the EU who have not provided a valid VAT number will be charged Irish VAT, currently at 21%. All subscribers located outside the EU but within EMEA (except Switzerland) will be charged VAT at 0%. All subscribers in Switzerland will be charged VAT at 7.6%.
