Lesson 2: Consuming External Data with Business Connectivity Services in SharePoint 2010
Business Connectivity Services (BCS) enables easier and more flexible integration with back-end systems. BCS includes a set of presentation features, a connectivity framework, and tools within SharePoint Designer and Visual Studio 2010 that enable developers and administrators to connect to external data sources and services. In this module, we cover the steps to write connectivity between SharePoint and external systems. We also cover using external lists to expose external system data by using the familiar SharePoint list user interface.
