SharePoint 2010 has many new developer oriented features. This session is a lap around SharePoint 2010 for developers providing a brief look and code- based demos of the major new features in building user interfaces, building on the data platform, and general programmability.

The Ribbon interface in SharePoint 2010 is fully extensible. Also, new UI controls such as the dialog framework and the status and notification area allow you to inform or interact with the user without taking them out of the context of their task or the look and feel of SharePoint.

This session provides you with an overview of SharePoint 2010 development with Visual Studio 2010, including project and item templates, a walkthrough of the designers, and areas of extensibility within Visual Studio 2010 that can enhance SharePoint development.

This session shows how to build external content types with both the Visual Studio 2010 designer and with SharePoint Designer 2010, providing multiple ways to expose line of business data, from a variety of sources, as SharePoint 2010 external lists.

SharePoint 2010 has new and improved ways to work with data. This session demonstrates how to write code that uses each of these new data-oriented features and shows some new SharePoint platform data-oriented features along the way.
