Latest version of the official Microsoft Windows Performance Toolkit designed for analysis of a wide range of performance problems including application start times, boot issues, deferred procedure calls and interrupt activity (DPCs and ISRs), system responsiveness issues, application resource usage, and interrupt storms.

WPT 4.1.1 does not support Windows 7. Windows 7 SDK comes with a version compatible with this OS release. Please obtain WPT from the Platform SDK if you plan on analyzing performance traces from Windows 7 systems.

The MSIs containing these tools are installed as part of the Win32 Development Tools portion of the Windows SDK. You can use the Web installer to install just the Win32 Development Tools portion of the Windows SDK.

Process Explorer
Windows Performance Analyzer lets you work offline on captured traces for detailed holistic performance analysis, correlating CPU usage with usage of other resources such as registry, and disk and file I/O. For a very quick online analysis of what's eating your CPU cycles there is a much lighter weight tool that you can use, called Process Explorer, authored by Mark Russinovich.

Windows Network Monitor
Windows Performance Analyzer doesn't presently give you visual insight into the network traffic analysis. For that you can today leverage Windows Network Monitor, which similarly to Performance Analyzer, also captures data on network traffic into a log that can subsequently be post-processed for detailed analysis.
