The Records Center site template is customized for use as a records center. Site features that are not useful for a records center, such as Discussions, are hidden by default. Conversely, useful site components, such as Reporting, are featured prominently.
The Records Center site template implements the Records Center Web service and includes several features that enable record managers to customize that implementation, as follows:
A record routing type table, which record managers can use to specify where different types of content are stored within the records center.
A record routing type entry in that table, called Unclassified Records, which is by default specified as the default record routing type.
A default document library, Unclassified Records, for storage of files that are assigned the Unclassified Records record routing type.
