Search folders are like normal folders: Once created, they contain standard properties defined for folders, and they can be searched for items and then deleted when no longer needed. However, the Exchange store sets special properties on persisted search folders. The following table lists these properties and their descriptions.

| DAV:searchtype | The Exchange store sets this property to "dynamic". |
| DAV:searchrequest (Read-Only) | The Exchange store places the Structured Query Language (SQL) query statement used to populate the search folder in this property. |
| DAV:resourcetype | The Exchange store sets this property to the value "DAV:collection/DAV:searchresults/" for search folders. |
