Windows 8 and Windows Store apps
The Live SDK is designed to make it even easier to use SkyDrive and other compatible services throughout your Windows Store apps. In addition, on Windows 8 your apps can offer zero-click single sign-on to users who have a Microsoft account.
Mobile devices
The Live SDK is also available for Windows Phone, Android and iOS. The Live Connect APIs use open standards like OAuth 2.0 and JSON, making them easy and familiar to work with.
Web developers
From SkyDrive document sharing to Outlook.com contacts and calendars, it's easy to let your users connect and engage. Enable single sign-on for users of Windows 8, Outlook.com, and other compatible services.
Important update from Microsoft
We recently announced that we’ll begin to encourage Messenger users to start using Skype. As a result, the Messenger developer program will end. Existing implementations that use Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) will continue to work until October 2013. Existing implementations that use Mobile Service Proxy (MSP) will continue to work until March 2014. For support for existing XMPP implementations, please visit our Forums page.
