Visual Studio

This section contains information about XML elements that comprise .vstemplate files, which are files that store metadata for project templates, item templates, and Starter Kits.

You can use vstemplate.xsd to validate custom .vstemplate files. This file can be found at [InstallDirectory]\Xml\Schemas\1033\vstemplate.xsd, where [InstallDirectory] specifies the path to the directory where Visual Studio is installed; for example C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\.
