        y2:float32 -> unit

Parameters

pen
Type: System.Drawing.Pen
Pen that determines the color, width, and style of the line.
x1
Type: System.Single
The x-coordinate of the first point.
y1
Type: System.Single
The y-coordinate of the first point.
x2
Type: System.Single
The x-coordinate of the second point.
y2
Type: System.Single
The y-coordinate of the second point.
Exceptions

Exception Condition
ArgumentNullException

pen is null.

Remarks

This method draws a line connecting the two points specified by the x1, y1, x2, and y2 parameters.

Examples

The following code example is designed for use with Windows Forms, and it requires PaintEventArgs e, which is a parameter of the Paint event handler. The code performs the following actions:

  • Creates a black pen.

  • Creates the coordinates of the endpoints of the line.

  • Draws the line to the screen.

Visual Basic

Public Sub DrawLineFloat(ByVal e As PaintEventArgs)

    ' Create pen.
    Dim blackPen As New Pen(Color.Black, 3)

    ' Create coordinates of points that define line.
    Dim x1 As Single = 100.0F
    Dim y1 As Single = 100.0F
    Dim x2 As Single = 500.0F
    Dim y2 As Single = 100.0F

    ' Draw line to screen.
    e.Graphics.DrawLine(blackPen, x1, y1, x2, y2)
End Sub

C#

public void DrawLineFloat(PaintEventArgs e)
{

    // Create pen.
    Pen blackPen = new Pen(Color.Black, 3);

    // Create coordinates of points that define line.
    float x1 = 100.0F;
    float y1 = 100.0F;
    float x2 = 500.0F;
    float y2 = 100.0F;

    // Draw line to screen.
    e.Graphics.DrawLine(blackPen, x1, y1, x2, y2);
}

Visual C++

public:
   void DrawLineFloat( PaintEventArgs^ e )
   {
      // Create pen.
      Pen^ blackPen = gcnew Pen( Color::Black,3.0f );

      // Create coordinates of points that define line.
      float x1 = 100.0F;
      float y1 = 100.0F;
      float x2 = 500.0F;
      float y2 = 100.0F;

      // Draw line to screen.
      e->Graphics->DrawLine( blackPen, x1, y1, x2, y2 );
   }
