Renew your account
March 11, 2014
Here’s some info to help you keep your developer account current and your apps available for download.
Windows Phone Dev Center and Windows Dev Center accounts are integrated, so you can publish apps to the Windows Phone Store and to the Windows Store using a single developer account.
The process for renewing your account varies depending on how you currently are registered.
If you have developer accounts for the Windows Phone Dev Center and the Windows Dev Center
Starting in November 2013, if you have accounts for the Windows Phone Dev Center and the Windows Dev Center with the same Microsoft account, you must keep your existing Windows Dev Center account active to access both Dev Centers. Check your account status by going to the Windows Dev Center subscription page.
For more info about renewing your developer account, see Renewing your developer account.
If you have only a Windows Phone developer account
If you registered for your developer account before November 2013, but don’t have a Windows Dev Center account opened using the same Microsoft account, you can set up your existing developer account to also publish Windows Store apps. Your existing Windows Phone Dev Center account will not renew automatically. To keep your account current, click the notification on your Windows Phone Dev Center Account summary page to configure your existing account to also publish Windows Store apps.
You will not be charged the Windows Dev Center registration fee if your Windows Phone developer account is current at the time you begin the Windows Dev Center registration process from the link in the Account summary notification.
After you register, you only need to keep your Windows Dev Center account active to submit apps to both stores. Check your account status on your Windows Dev Center subscription page.
