PathIO.WriteLinesAsync(String, IIterable(String)) | writeLinesAsync(String, IIterable(String)) method

Applies to Windows and Windows Phone

Writes lines of text to the file at the specified path or URI.

Syntax


Windows.Storage.PathIO.writeLinesAsync(absolutePath, lines).done( /* Your success and error handlers */ );

Parameters

absolutePath

Type: String [JavaScript] | System.String [.NET] | Platform::String [C++]

The path of the file that the lines are written to.

lines

Type: IIterable<String> [JavaScript/C++] | System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<String> [.NET]

The list of text strings to append as lines.

Return value

Type: IAsyncAction

No object or value is returned when this method completes.

Remarks

Note  To read or write to a file using a path or URIs, you must have permission to access the file's location.

You can specify an app URIs to read or write files in app-specific locations like your app data folder ("ms-appdata://"). To learn more about app URIs, see How to reference content.
