Download a Report (Windows Azure SQL Reporting)
|SQL Reporting will discontinue service on October 31, 2014. See this FAQ for details. For reporting on Windows Azure, visit Virtual Machines on WindowsAzure.com.|
You can download reports that you previously deployed or uploaded to SQL Reporting on Windows Azure. After you download a report, you can use Report Builder or SQL Server Data Tools to update its layout, add report parameters, change sorting options, and so forth. Changing most report properties is not supported on the SQL Reporting report server. You must use an authoring tool that supports report definition language (.rdl) files.
You might not need to download a copy of the report. If you have an on-premise copy of the report, you can update it in BI Development Studio and then redeploy or re-upload it to the SQL Reporting server, always keeping the master copy of the report on-premises.
To download a report
Open a Web browser, and launch the Windows Azure Platform Management Portal by specifying the appropriate Windows Azure credentials. Open the SQL Reporting server.
Click Items at the top of the page. If the report is not in the root SQL Reporting server folder, navigate to the folder that contains the report.
Select the report and then click Download at the bottom of the page.
In the Download Report dialog box, click the checkmark to download the report. The report is saved to the Downloads folder on your computer.
