Windows Azure Platform Management Portal
The Windows Azure Platform Management Portal provides access to service deployment and management tasks as well as at-a-glance status information that lets you know the overall health of your deployments and accounts. For more information about the Windows Azure Platform Management Portal, see The Management Portal topic.
Management Portal Functionality for SQL Database
In addition to service deployment and management tasks, the Windows Azure Platform Management Portal provides the user interface for provisioning SQL Database servers and logins, configuring the server-level firewall settings, and creating SQL Databases. After provisioning a server, you must use a tool such as SQL Server Management Studio or the Management Portal for SQL Database for database management tasks such as designing and editing tables, views, and stored procedures, and authoring and executing Transact-SQL queries. For a list of tools and utilities supported with Windows Azure SQL Database, see Tools and Utilities Support (Windows Azure SQL Database).
To start the Management Portal for SQL Database, select a database in the Management Portal and click the Manage button on the toolbar. See screenshot below.
