Preferred Profile Provisioning

Note  Wireless Provisioning Services (WPS) is no longer available as of Windows Vista.

An application or setup program uses the WPS IProvisioningProfileWirelessinterface to dynamically create a new wireless connection profile. The new profile is added to the preferred profile list managed by the Wireless Zero Configuration service and provisioned through WPS XML data.

This method does not store XML files within the WPS provisioning store. Instead, the WISP application or setup program provides the XML data through the IProvisioningProfileWirelessinterface.

This method is intended to provision wireless networks that do not provide a subscription service.
