Running the test

Before you run the test, complete the test setup as described in the test requirements: Mouse or other Pointing Device Testing Prerequisites.

  1. Start the test. Wait at least 10 seconds (there is a timer in the top right corner of the screen for reference).

  2. Swipe in horizontally from the edge specified by the instructions on the screen.

    1. Your swipe should start off the edge of the touchpad, and swipe inwards (keeping your fingertip flush with the device) toward the center of the touchpad at 200 mm/s. When you reach 10-20mm past the edge of the touchpad, lift your contact.

      1. The tool will automatically pass/fail the iteration if the requirement is met.

  3. Repeat step 2 for a total of 20 iterations (10 on left edge and 10 on right).

Troubleshooting

For troubleshooting information, see Troubleshooting Device.Input Testing.

If you see error “[14] packet too far from edge: ###”, ensure that the swipe starts at the edge (or before it) and you are swiping from the appropriate edge, as specified by the test.
