Search Bugs

If you need to find a specific bug that is not included in any of the available filters, you can use search.

Searching for a bug

You can run a simple search by using the parameters provided, or you can run an advanced search that uses your own custom parameters.

To search for a bug

  1. From either the Windows Dev Center - Hardware or Windows Desktop App Developer Center, sign in to the dashboard with your Microsoft account.

  2. On the left side, click Bug management.

  3. On the Bug management page, in the Search tile, click either Using basic criteria or Using advanced criteria.

  4. On the Search page, in the Search Type list, specify whether you want the results to list bugs that match all of your specified parameters or just some of the parameters. On the Basic Search tab, the bug fields are chosen for you. On the Advanced Search tab, you can select criteria from the drop-down lists.

  5. After you have selected your parameters, click Search.

TipTip
When you create a customized search on the Advanced Search tab, copy the URL that you generated and save it to your Favorites so that you can open it again later.

noteNote
Advanced Search supports a maximum of 3 instances of a field in a single query. Example: Severity = 1 OR Severity = 2 OR Severity = 3.
