UnicodeCharacters.GetNumericType | getNumericType method

Applies to Windows and Windows Phone

Returns the UnicodeNumericType of the specified Unicode character.

Syntax


var unicodeNumericType = Windows.Data.Text.UnicodeCharacters.getNumericType(codepoint);

Parameters

codepoint

Type: Number [JavaScript] | System.UInt32 [.NET] | uint32 [C++]

A Unicode character. This must be in the proper range: 0 <= codepoint <= 0x10FFFF.

Return value

Type: UnicodeNumericType

The Unicode numeric type for codepoint.

Remarks

See the remarks for GetCodepointFromSurrogatePair for a discussion of how to prepare a Unicode character to be passed to this method.

This method throws an invalid argument exception if the input is not a valid codepoint.
