Using the ClientServicing Namespace
[This documentation is preliminary for WSUS 3.0 SP1 and is subject to change.]
The ClientServicing namespace is used to extend WSUS to include clients running operating systems that are not Windows desktop or server operating systems, such as Windows Mobile. WSUS administrators will not need to use this namespace. It is intended primarily for developers who are extending WSUS for these clients.
|The set of computers running operating systems that need to be managed in this way will be called “non-Windows clients”, even though it includes clients running the Windows Mobile operating system.|
Referencing the ClientServicing assembly
The Microsoft.UpdateServices.ClientServices.dll assembly contains the ClientServicing namespace. You can reference this assembly in Microsoft Visual Studio by opening the Add Reference dialog, switching to the .NET tab, and selecting Microsoft.UpdateServices.ClientServices. If you are unable to reference the assembly in this way, you can find it in the Api folder under the WSUS installation directory.
