SetDeadGWDetect method of the Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration class

The SetDeadGWDetect WMI class static method is used to enable dead gateway detection.

This topic uses Managed Object Format (MOF) syntax. For more information about using this method, see Calling a Method.

Syntax

uint32 SetDeadGWDetect(
  [in] boolean DeadGWDetectEnabled
);

Parameters

DeadGWDetectEnabled [in]

If true, dead gateway detection should be enabled.

Return value

Returns a value of 0 (zero) for a successful completion when no reboot is required, 1 (one) for a successful completion when a reboot is required, and a different number if there is an error. Remarks

With this feature enabled, TCP asks IP to change to a backup gateway if it retransmits a segment several times without receiving a response.
