StoreManifest.xml is a configuration file that is included in the package of Windows Store app packages that take advantage of the new user interface of Windows apps. Its purpose is to enable features, such as the ability to opt out of pre-installation, that the AppxManifest.xml file does not cover. StoreManifest.xml is submitted with the application package and must be in the root folder of your application’s main project.
The following table lists all of the elements in this schema, sorted alphabetically by name.
The DeviceCompanionApplication element contains all the configuration required to declare your app as a Windows Store device app.
The ExclusiveOptOut element specifies the developer preference to opt out of exclusive distribution through the OEM channel in the Windows Store. By default, apps created by channel developers are exclusive to the channel with which they are affiliated and not generally available in the store. These apps are free to users when they are preinstalled by the OEM.
The ExperienceID element specifies a GUID that links the device metadata to a device app that can be automatically acquired when the device is first connected. Each ExperienceID GUID corresponds to the ExperienceID element of a device metadata package.
The ExperienceIds element contains a list of one or more individual ExperienceId elements.
The PreinstallOptOut element specifies that the app may not be pre-installed on OEM-customized versions of Windows.
The ProductFeature element is the container for all existing and future product features that will be configured through StoreManifest XML documents.
