Reporting a concern about an app

You can report concerns about an app that you believe does not meet app requirements, as described in the App certification requirements for Windows Phone. This includes apps that violate any of the following:

The following are some examples of areas of concern:

  • Offensive content

  • Child exploitation

  • Privacy concerns

  • Spam content

  • Technical issues, such as the following:

    • Performance

    • Battery life

    • Crashes

To report a concern about an app to Microsoft, send email to reportapp@microsoft.com. Include the following information:

  • Store app link

  • Publisher name

  • App name

  • Country or region

    This is the country or region of the Store from which you are reporting the concern.

  • Areas of concern

    • Offensive content

    • Child exploitation

    • Privacy concerns

    • Spam content

    • Technical issues, such as the following:

      • Performance

      • Battery life

      • Crashes

  • Parts of the app of concern

    Clearly state the parts of the app that are of concern to you, such as the following:

    • App title

    • App icon

    • App description

    • App content (please list locations where possible)
