ObjectType enumeration

Enumerations that specify what type of object is being used on a SharePoint site.

Namespace:  WebSvcSiteData
Assembly:  STSSOAP (in STSSOAP.dll)
[SerializableAttribute]
public enum ObjectType
Member nameDescription
VirtualServerSpecifies an object that represents a virtual server or Web application.
ContentDatabaseSpecifies that a ContentDatabase property is associated with the site collection.
SiteCollectionRepresents an SPSite object in an SPWebApplication.
SiteRepresents an SPWeb object in an SPWebApplication, including a top-level Web site and all of its subsites.
ListSpecifies an SPList object in a SharePoint site.
FolderSpecifies a SPFolder object in a SharePoint site.
ListItemSpecifies an SPListItem object in a list in a SharePoint site.
ListItemAttachmentsSpecifies that an SPAttachmentCollection object is associated with the list item.

These enumerations were occasionally used with classes that became obsolete when Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 was released. Use the SPSiteCollection class or the SPWebApplication class for objects that can be used on SharePoint sites.

In Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, the term virtual server was replaced with the term web application, although you may still find them used interchangeably.
