XmlReader.MoveToFirstAttribute Method

When overridden in a derived class, moves to the first attribute.

Namespace: System.Xml
Assembly: System.Xml (in system.xml.dll)

public abstract bool MoveToFirstAttribute ()
public abstract boolean MoveToFirstAttribute ()
public abstract function MoveToFirstAttribute () : boolean

Return Value

true if an attribute exists (the reader moves to the first attribute); otherwise, false (the position of the reader does not change).

The following example gets the value of the first attribute.

reader.ReadToFollowing("book");
reader.MoveToFirstAttribute();
string genre = reader.Value;
Console.WriteLine("The genre value: " + genre);
