Selects all text in the text box.
Assembly: System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)
This method enables you to select all text within the control. You can use this method in conjunction with the Cut method, which requires text to be selected in the control, to cut the entire contents of the control and paste them into the Clipboard.
The following code example uses TextBox, a derived class, to determine if any text is selected in the control. If no text is selected, a call is made to the method before copying the contents of the control to the Clipboard. This example requires that a TextBox has been created named textBox1.
Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
