The Application Menu has an auxiliary pane that can host additional content. The AuxiliaryPaneContent property hosts a RibbonGallery and is typically used to display a list of recent documents.

The following illustration shows the Application Menu for a ribbon control. The auxiliary pane hosts a list of recent documents.
