Transforms text for the target browser.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.Adapters
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

public virtual string TransformText(
	string text
)

Parameters

text
Type: System.String

A String that is the text to transform.

Return Value

Type: System.String
A String that contains the transformed text.

The TransformText method can be used, for example, to transform tab characters (\t) into line breaks (\n).

The TransformText base method returns text unchanged.

Notes to Inheritors

When you inherit from the PageAdapter class, you can override TransformText if a particular markup has a construct with a different form from standard HTML. For example, if a browser requires a different identifier for a tag than what would be used in HTML, TransformText method can be overridden to find that tag and change it.
