Match.Result Method

Returns the expansion of the specified replacement pattern.

Parameters

replacement

The replacement pattern to use.

Return Value

The expanded version of the replacement parameter.

Exception typeCondition

ArgumentNullException

replacement is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

NotSupportedException

Expansion is not allowed for this pattern.

For example, if the replacement parameter is "$1$2", the Result method returns the concatenation of Groups[1].Value and Groups[2].Value (Groups(1).Value and Groups(2).Value in Visual Basic).
