PropertyDescriptor.GetTypeFromName Method

Returns a type using its name.

Namespace:  System.ComponentModel
Assembly:  System (in System.dll)
protected Type GetTypeFromName(
	string typeName
)

Parameters

typeName
Type: System.String

The assembly-qualified name of the type to retrieve.

Return Value

Type: System.Type
A Type that matches the given type name, or null if a match cannot be found.

To find the appropriate type, this method first checks the assembly of the type that this PropertyDescriptor references. If it does not find the type in the assembly, it calls Type.GetType.
