Rename a Collection-Level Group

You can choose to rename a group to better reflect its purpose. To rename a group, you must have read/write permission to the group you are renaming. You cannot rename the default collection-level groups, such as Project Collection Administrators.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Project Collection Administrators group or your Edit Collection-Level Information permission must be set to Allow. For more information about permissions, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To rename a collection-level group

  1. In Team Explorer, connect to the team project collection that contains the group that you want to rename.

  2. On the Team menu, point to Team Project Collection Settings, and then click Group Membership.

  3. In the Global Groups dialog box, select the group you want to rename, and then click Properties.

    NoteNote

    You cannot rename default groups.

  4. In the Team Foundation Server Group Properties dialog box, in the Group Name box, enter the new name for the team project group.

  5. Click OK, and then click Close.
