Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the Microsoft Office System includes a number of customizable IntelliSense code snippets that provide code specific to document-level projects for Microsoft Office Word 2003 and Microsoft Office Excel 2003. IntelliSense code snippets are pieces of code that are ready to be inserted in your application with a few clicks. Each snippet performs a complete programming task. For more information about IntelliSense code snippets, see Visual Basic IntelliSense Code Snippets.

Visual Studio Tools for Office does not include IntelliSense code snippets for applications other than Word and Excel.

Snippet Tasks

The snippets include tasks such as the following:

  • Importing content from other documents.

  • Creating tables and PivotTable reports.

  • Importing and exporting data.

  • Manipulating actions panes.

  • Work with cached data.

  • Formatting documents.

  • Manipulating menus.

  • Creating controls.
