XPathNavigator.MoveToFollowing Method (String, String)

Moves the XPathNavigator to the element with the local name and namespace URI specified in document order.

Namespace:  System.Xml.XPath
Assembly:  System.Xml (in System.Xml.dll)

public virtual bool MoveToFollowing(
	string localName,
	string namespaceURI
)

Parameters

localName
Type: System.String

The local name of the element.

namespaceURI
Type: System.String

The namespace URI of the element.

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if the XPathNavigator moved successfully; otherwise false.

If the MoveToFollowing method returns false, the position of the XPathNavigator is unchanged.

In the following example, the XPathNavigator is moved from the root of the contosoBooks.xml file to the first price element.

XPathDocument document = new XPathDocument("contosoBooks.xml");
XPathNavigator navigator = document.CreateNavigator();

navigator.MoveToFollowing("price", "http://www.contoso.com/books");

Console.WriteLine("Position: {0}", navigator.Name);
Console.WriteLine(navigator.OuterXml);

The example takes the contosoBooks.xml file as an input.
