SecurityTokenHandler.ReadToken Method (String)

When overridden in a derived class, deserializes the specified string to a token of the type processed by the derived class.

Parameters

tokenString
Type: System.String

The string to be deserialized.

Return Value

Type: System.IdentityModel.Tokens.SecurityToken
The security token that was deserialized from the specified string.

Calling this method with untrusted data is a security risk. Call this method only with trusted data. For more information, see Untrusted Data Security Risks.

By default this method throws a NotImplementedException exception.

Override this method to provide functionality that can deserialize a security token from a string. If you override, this method, you should also override the SecurityTokenHandler.CanReadToken method.
