Enable Team Foundation Version Control to Get the latest Files on Check-Out (Team Explorer Everywhere)

You can configure Team Foundation version control to get the latest version of a file when you check it out. In Team Explorer Everywhere 2010, you can only configure settings for your computer. You must use another client, such as Visual Studio, to configure check-out behavior for your team project. For more information about how the check-out settings work, see Team Foundation Check-Out Settings (Team Explorer Everywhere).

The following procedure controls the check-out behavior for your computer. This affects both the Team Foundation Server plug-in for Eclipse and the Cross-platform Command-Line Client for Team Foundation Server.

To enable or disable get latest on check-out for your computer

  1. On the Window menu, click Preferences.

  2. In the left pane, expand the Team node, expand the Team Foundation Server node, and click Source Control.

  3. Select or clear the Get latest version of item on check out check box.

  4. Click OK.
