Supported Visual Studio Editions for Domain-Specific Language Tools

The following are lists of the Visual Studio 2008 editions that are supported with Domain-Specific Language Tools in the authoring and deployment environments. For more information on these editions, see the Microsoft Visual Studio Developer Center.

Domain-Specific Language Tools supports the following editions for authoring domain-specific languages:

  • Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition

  • Visual Studio 2008 Team Edition for Software Architects

  • Visual Studio 2008 Team Edition for Software Developers

  • Visual Studio 2008 Team Edition for Software Testers

  • Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite

Domain-Specific Language Tools supports the following configurations for deploying the domain-specific languages that you build:

  • Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition

  • Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition

  • Visual Studio 2008 Team Edition for Software Architects

  • Visual Studio 2008 Team Edition for Software Developers

  • Visual Studio 2008 Team Edition for Software Testers

  • Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite

  • The Visual Studio 2008 SDK Shell (integrated mode) redistributable package

  • The Visual Studio 2008 SDK Shell (isolated mode) SP1 redistributable package Note   Use the SP1 version of the isolated shell redistributable, not the RTM version. You can find more information on the redistributables on the Visual Studio Extensibility Downloads site.
