XmlReader.MoveToAttribute Method (String, String)

When overridden in a derived class, moves to the attribute with the specified LocalName and NamespaceURI.

Namespace:  System.Xml
Assembly:  System.Xml (in System.Xml.dll)
abstract MoveToAttribute :
        name:string *
        ns:string -> bool

Parameters

name
Type: System.String

The local name of the attribute.

ns
Type: System.String

The namespace URI of the attribute.

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if the attribute is found; otherwise, false. If false, the reader's position does not change.
ExceptionCondition
InvalidOperationException

An XmlReader method was called before a previous asynchronous operation finished. In this case, InvalidOperationException is thrown with the message “An asynchronous operation is already in progress.”

ArgumentNullException

Both parameter values are a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

After calling MoveToAttribute, the Name, NamespaceURI, and Prefix properties reflect the properties of that attribute.
