(At least indirectly). When you implement your own ServiceHost you often have custom parameters which are filled in by your custom ServiceHostFactory, and usually you need these in ApplyConfiguration. Consider this example where you want a UnityContainer available in ApplyConfiguration(): public UnityServiceHost(IUnityContainer container, Type serviceType, params Uri baseAddresses)

Like many people, I wasn't able to follow instructions provided on this page. MS should test their documentation before publishing world wide and putting their name on it. Anyways, found much clearer steps athttp://technologyriver.blogspot.com/2012/02/prerequisites-check-windows-7.htmlCheers

I spent too much time looking through proper instructions on internet on this simple task: create and host WCF Service in IIS and then consume it. Finally I found what worked for me:http://technologyriver.blogspot.com/2012/02/prerequisites-check-windows-7.htmlHopefully that will work for other people too.I would hope MS would update their instructions to make them more followable and clear.

'data source=http://adventure-works.com/results.aspx' doesn't work to well with WCF.
try using just the url to the wcf:http://adventure-works.com/results.svc or equivalent. Don't prepend it with 'data source='

Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) is Microsoft’s unified programming model for building service-oriented applications. WCF enables you to create SOAP-based Web services, and even REST-based Web services. WCF Data Services implements the Open Data Protocol (OData) to enable you to create model-based REST services that use Atom and JSON to describe data in the HTTP message exchange. For more in

Many WCF objets throw then disposed after a failure. Especially when they are disposed because or the failure.[Patrick-MSFT]Hi,The MSDN Library community content is designed primarily to enable MSDN users to provide feedback, extensions and explanations of the documentation. It is not a good way to have issues with the code analysis rules themselves addressed. To discuss the implementation of code
