In future versions of Project Server, after Project Server 2010, direct database insertion, including custom permissions, is not officially supported. In Project Server 2013, there is no alternative solution for creating custom permissions.

I have a problem by adding the new tab for Project Server Workflow. I follow the steps listed in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee767686(office.14).aspx, but once the controls are added to the new tab, they are greyed out and cannot be used on the project.

basically, i have a feeling this has to do with the way the icon reference for the shurtcut is kept in the deployment project. for example, this error comes up when the executable containing the icon changes. i could get rid of this error multiple times by simply removing the shortcut and re-adding it as well as by simply specifying the icon to use for the shortcut again.in both cases the error me

DeleteAtUninstall does _not_ what one might expect it to do (and not what is documented here.). incase DeleteAtUninstall is set to "false", one would expect that key (and it's subkeys) would not be deleted during an uninstall.however, this is not the case. keys are allways deleted at uninstall. if you need a permanent key, create one using a custom action and don't delete it during uninstall in yo

The problem could be related to the fact that older (pre 2008) Visual C++ Express Edition's App Wizard does not have the Win32 Project template to create a new project. You can choose Win32 Console application, but not Win32 Project. The 2008 version has the Win32 Project template for an application, a DLL and a static Library.
