Getting templates for non-default framework (Solution2.GetProjectTemplate Method (EnvDTE80))
By default, solution2.GetProjectTemplate() get the templates that target the default framework of Visual Studio (v4.0 in 2010). If you want to get templates for previous framework (say SharePoint ones), you should pass in FrameworkVersion as add-on to template id. string myTemplate = solution.GetProjectTemplate("MyFancyTemplate|FrameworkVersion=3.5", "CSharp") solution.AddFromTemplate(myT

But here is the short and sweet. If you find your Entity Framwork Transactions being promoted to distributed transactions. This is likely because you are making two queries with the transactionscope. WPF Application Sample for Entity Framework (Application Samples (WPF))
I’m missing a WPF Application Sample that shows how the Entity Framework can be integrated. I find examples in the MSDN that demonstrate how to use the Entity Framework in an ASP .NET or a Windows Forms application but I haven’t found one for WPF. The BookLibrary sample application of the WPF Application Framework (WAF) might be such an application (http://waf.codeplex.com).

Connect does not throw exception if it fails in .NET CF 2.0 on Datalogic device (Socket.Connect Method (EndPoint) (System.Net.Sockets))
In the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 on a Datalogic device, the Socket.Connect() method will not throw a SocketException if the connection attempt is unsuccessful when a cable is connected, e.g. the server is not listening. Also it sets the Connected property to true, so you can't check that way either. When a Send or Receive is attempted when stepping through in Debugging mode, you will get a SocketE

Event fires whenever the SelectedIndex property is changed (ListBox.SelectedIndexChanged Event (System.Windows.Forms))
When programming on the .Net Framework (on the Compact Framework especially), it is important to know that the ListBox.SelectedIndexChanged event occurs even when the SelectedIndex property is changed programmatically. That means if you set the SelectedIndex property when you are initializing the control, for example, form Load, this event will fire. This is a significant behavioral difference fr

Calling WaitOne() with exitContext=true throws ArgumentException exception (ManualResetEvent.WaitOne Method (Int32, Boolean) (System.Threading))
The following code always throw an exception: protected ManualResetEvent m_ThreadHandle = new ManualResetEvent(false); m_ThreadHandle.WaitOne(0, true); The exitContext parameter to the WaitOne(int millisecondsTimeout, bool exitContext) method must be false.A fellow programmer documented this very well in his blog entry, Compact Framework WaitHandle.WaitOne Gotcha.
