An example using dynamic properties of .Net 4 (Workbooks.Open Method (Excel))
The following piece of code requires a reference to Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel and Microsoft.CSharp. It will list the row number and content of the first column of the first sheet in an excel file using Excel = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel; ... var filePath = @"C:\Temp\Sample.xlsx"; var application = new Excel.Application(); var book = application.W

Dynamic Media Type Change (Microsoft MPEG-1/DD/AAC Audio Decoder (Windows))
Somewhat unexpectedly, in Windows 7 the filter would connect with AAC 5.1 media type but with first media sample delivery it would attempt to re-agree media type on its output pin to stereo. It might be OK if it is connected to stock audio renderer and format change passes transparently, but if the change is rejected, no data is streamed and decoder would keep trying to change media type with sile

Dynamic Ports (Configuring a Fixed Port)
And this is very important information, thanks Bob. Confirmed for SQL 2005 Standard, also if you leave uncleared Dynamic Ports and assign to IPAll port lover then one in Dynamic Ports SQL Service won't start.

Threadsafe version (Predicate(T) Delegate (System))
I would be careful with the above community content by Shobin Mathew if you are using threads as his example does not appear to be thread safe. If another thread modified the SearchParam module level object between it being set and the call to .find then the search would not be executing on what you think it is executing on.Instead I would create a class that contains the term you are searching f

ASP.NET Dynamic Data - SortColumn (DisplayColumnAttribute Class (System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations))
In ASP.NET Dynamic Data the "sortColumn" specifies the column that will be used to sort this entity when it is used as a foreign key (ex: in a DropDownList), not when it is being sorted in the GridView (or being sorted in the DB).

Partial Class Namespace for ScaffoldTableAttribute (ASP.NET Dynamic Data Scaffolding and Page Templates Overview)
I struggled with getting the ScaffoldTableAttribute working until I got the namespace correct for the partial class. In my situation, I was using the Entity Framework. Here's what I had to do to get it working. Assuming we're using the Adventureworks database as above, Studio will create a .edmx file which holds the entity data model created from the database. The partial class that you create must
